Having started as a group of 5 dancers from different parts of South India (Sanjay, Rajesh, Elaan & Ilyas) and a girl from Malaysia (Karthi), XLNC now has a full-fledged team of over 20 dancers. Since 1995 the troupe has performed at over 3,000 shows across India and abroad. True to its caption, XLNC’s dancers believe that they are ‘Born to Perform’.
Sanjay Kumar who heads XLNC Dance Company is a veteran dancer and choreographer. Besides enthralling audiences on stage, he is well-versed in ballroom dancing like Quick Step, Foxtrot, Waltz and Tango. He also performs and teaches Jazz, Hip-Hop, Free Style, Jive, Salsa, Merengue, and Cha-Cha among others.
Sanjay has taught dance to thousands of students across India and abroad. His students include film actors, pop singers, cricketers and industrialists. He also choreographs dance sequences for cultural events of schools, colleges and corporates, as well as for weddings. He has choreographed over 2,000 such shows over the last 17 years.
He has taught dance to employees of Philips Software, Cognizant, Dell, Delphi, HSBC, Micys, Round Table, Ubinetics, Motorola, IBM, GE Medicals, Tata Indicom, HP, Avon, Star TV, Huawei Technologies, Hutch, I-2, I-Flex, Inter Woven, Saffron, Schneider Electric, Tata Indicom, AXA, Oracle, Business Objects, Standard Chartered, Tesco, TNT, Volvo, Timken, Accenture, Subex, HCL, NDS among others.
He has choreographed dance performances for students of Baldwin’s College, Christ College, Jyoti Nivas College, Mount Carmel College, St Joseph’s College, Bishop Cotton College, Bangalore Engineering College, RIT College, Jain College, Sophia School, Bethany’s, New Horizon School, Bishop Cotton School, Stone Hill International and many more.
Cinematic (Bollywood & Regional film songs) dances appear in Indian films combining Indian classical and western styles expressing the inner emotions of the dancer. It has universal appeal due to its combination of styles making it fun and accessible for all levels of ability. This dance is performed based on the lyrics and rhythm of the song. It is a mixture of various styles. These styles include Belly-Dancing, Kathak, Indian Folk, Western popular, Modern Jazz and even Western Freestyle Dancing.
