Established in 1940, The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) is the oldest Chamber in the State of Gujarat and is the only Chamber of Commerce which boasts a Convention Centre.
To keep pace with the changing economic scenario, a need was felt to build a world-class Convention Centre in Surat, which could provide a platform to organize exhibitions, trade shows, buyer-seller meets, and seminars. The Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC) was initiated to address this need. SIECC is the pride of India. It is a state-of-the-art Convention Centre equipped with all modern amenities.
SIECC was inaugurated by the former Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi, in the year 2010. Multiple exhibitions, seminars, and business meetings such as Udyog, Vyapar, Sparkle, Auto Expo, textile Machinery Expo, Travel & Tourism Fair, Furniture & Interior Show, etc. have been organized at SIECC generating huge business opportunities for Gujarat.
Also, dignitaries like Mr. Ram Nath Kovind (Hon. President of India), (Mr. Pranab Mukherjee (Hon. Former President), Mr. Narendra Modi (Hon.Prime Minister), Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman (Hon. Minister of Finance & Minister of Corporate Affairs), Ms. Smriti Irani (Hon. Minister of Textiles & Minister of Women and Child Development), Mr. Giriraj Singh (Hon. MSME Minister), Ms. Anandiben Patel (Hon. Former Chief Minister – Gujarat), Mr. Manoj Sinha (Hon. Former Minister of State for Railways), etc. have visited SIECC during various events.
SIECC has two components viz. Exhibition Hall and Platinum Hall. These halls provide a platform to organize exhibitions, trade shows, buyer-seller meets seminars, training programs, social events, etc. It plays a vital role to boost the Trade & Industry of the region. Also, the Platinum Hall has created an excellent space for people to organize their social events on a humongous and lavish scale.
Exhibition Hall has a completely air-conditioned pillarless display area of 10600 sq. mtr. This provides an excellent opportunity for Industrial units and trading organizations to display their products and services. It is a state-of-the-art Convention Centre equipped with all modern amenities like;
“Platinum Hall” is the second phase of the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre. It was inaugurated by the auspicious hands of the Hon’ble Minister of State of Commerce & Industry Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman.
It is a multipurpose hall acquainted with Central Air Conditioning System and elegant interiors. The main hall provides a huge area of approximately 12,000 sq. ft. and the Dining Area is situated in 7000 sq. ft. An additional lawn is also provided to add to its beauty admeasuring 20,000 sq. ft. The maiden event of the Platinum Hall was the Annual General Meeting of The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry in the presence of various dignitaries.
Platinum Hall has hosted various exhibitions, seminars, conferences, launch events, fashion shows, etc. It is the main attraction for every kind of social event owing to its lavish and contemporary ambience. The Hon’ble Minister of Textiles Mrs. Smriti Irani has also honoured us with her presence at the inauguration of a textile exhibition. Hon’ble President of India Mr. Ramnath Kovind has graced an occasion for a social cause in the Platinum Hall.
